Northern Beaches Bathroom Renovations refers bathroom and laundry renovation enquiries. We do not ourselves carry out building, plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tiling or asbestos removal work.
Who does the work
Renovation work is carried out in partnership with Coastal Renovation Group, a licensed NSW builder. Licence and insurance details are provided on request.
The builder issues the quote, holds the contract with you, performs the work and is responsible for it, including any warranties. Where the law requires home building compensation cover, the builder arranges it before requesting a deposit.
Verify the licence on the NSW Fair Trading register and ask for a current certificate of insurance before any work starts.
Licensed trades
Plumbing and electrical work must be done by appropriately licensed tradespeople, and waterproofing by an appropriately licensed waterproofer. We make no representation about any individual's qualifications beyond the information the builder provides on request.
Asbestos
Asbestos removal is separately licensed work in NSW and is not authorised by a builder's licence. Fibro houses and many homes and units built or renovated before about 1990 on the Northern Beaches can contain asbestos in bathroom and laundry linings and floor materials. Suspect materials should be tested before demolition, with any asbestos removed by a licensed asbestos removalist.
Approvals and hazards
Owners corporations decide strata approvals. Northern Beaches Council determines planning matters, including those related to heritage, bushfire-prone land, flood and coastal hazards. Neither we nor the builder can guarantee an approval or its timing.
